Abstract The purpose of this study was to identify the mechanisms underlying effects of coffee on cognition in the context of brain networks. Methods and materials Participants Twenty-one healthy volunteers 11 women; Neurocognitive function tests and caffeine intake Global neurocognitive function was assessed using the Mini-Mental State Examination MMSE at least 24 h after cessation of coffee consumption in all participants.
